On Wednesday 12 June, at the headquarters of Confindustria Centro Adriatico, in Ascoli Piceno, the final appointment was held with the delivery of the certificates to the participants in the advanced course in Engineering of composite materials.
Success for the first course on composite materials: The course of studies stems from the need of the companies of the territory to specialize in the mechanics, design and processing of composite materials. From the close collaboration between the Polytechnic University of Marche and the Composite Materials Pole, the idea of the Specialization Course in Composite Materials Engineering was born.
The specialization course is a won bet to be awarded for the Rector of the Marche Polytechnic University, Sauro Longhi. The partnership between the Polytechnic University of Marche and the Composite Materials Center was presented by the General Manager HP Composites Spa Abramo Levato. The event was also attended by the President of Confindustria Centro Adriatico, Simone Mariani, and the Mayor of Ascoli Piceno, Marco Fioravanti.
The advanced course saw the participation of 43 students, employees of companies in the sector of advanced composites and professionals from the Marche, Abruzzo, Puglia and Calabria. Lessons were held at the San Benedetto del Tronto branch of the Faculty of Economics "G. Fuà ”of Politecnica, from November 2018 to March 2019, for a total of 120 hours with the recognition of 12 university training credits.
The topics covered in the course were divided into five modules. In the first, the foundations were laid for the detailed knowledge of the constituent phases of composite materials, fibers, matrices and nanocharges. In the second section, the aspects related to the micro- and macro-mechanics of composites were studied. In the third, the focus was on understanding the design principles of composite components. In the fourth the methods for the production of composite manufactured articles were studied, for the execution of subtractive processing and for the joining of composite components. Finally, in the fifth, attention was focused on the techniques of component quality analysis and process monitoring.
The lessons were carried out by professors from the Polytechnic University of Marche, by professors from other universities and by experts in the sector belonging to internationally important companies such as HP Composites, Comec Innovative, Nanotech, SmartCAE and Netzsch.
They received the certificates Tania Alfonsi, Claudia Amadio, Ruben Carboni, Fabio Carucci, Gianluca Catalucci, Alessandro Catanzaro, Walter Cavatrunci, Lorenzo Consalvi, Andrea Di Diodoro, Valerio Di Pompeo, Roberto Di Stanislao, Tiziano Di Stanislao, Stefano Giammarini, Nazario Iacoponi, Monica Marchini, Dino Marinelli, Gianandrea Marioli, Enrico Marziali, Massimo Medori, Mauro Menchini, Veronica Pratico ', Stefano Prosperi, Mattia Utzeri, Luca Zaccari, Alessio Caioni, Carla Coli', Guerino Lattanzi, Leonardi Linda, Valerio Pierfelice, Gianpietro Sebastiani, Andrea De Angelis and Roberto Angelini.
